Volendam Museum

This Volendam Museum is definitely worth a visit if you would like to discover how people lived, lived and worked in Volendam in the late 19th century, early 20th century. For example, the Volendam costume is on display and there is the opportunity to take photos in this style in the harbor at Foto de Boer! Take a picture as a wonderful reminder of this beautiful museum and the wonderful history of Volendam!

Marker Museum

In 6 historically linked homes, the Marker Museum is located in the village of Marken 18 minutes drive from Van der Valk Hotel Volendam! The Marker Museum is located on an island. It also displays the unique Marker costumes and fabrics that were part of the rich culture in 1983.

Edam Museum

Did you know that the Edam Museum belongs to one of the oldest musea in North Holland and is located 8 minutes from Van der Valk Hotel Volendam? This special museum tells the story of Edam and its wonderful history in 2 different monumental locations. There is the Steenen Coopmanshuys (late Gothic merchant's house built between 1540-1550) and the famous Town Hall of Edam (dating from 1737). It is definitely worth it to visit those 2 unique locations of the Edam museum.

Waterland Museum

Also called the Play Tower in Monnickendam. The Waterland Museum is not just a museum, the center/center of the museum is the old city tower and in this tower you will have the opportunity to see the playing drum of the carillon. As a visitor you will get a complete picture of the history of a classic Dutch landscape in the Northern part of the Netherlands. Of course, there is also an attic room available for children in which history is explained in an interactive way.
